This group project is to introduce new technologies to integrate in teaching, where students are capable to collaborate and preform an engaged learning in the classroom.
The goal of teaching today’s students is to catch their attention and interests. By using handheld electronic devices in the classroom students will be engaged as well as challenged to using their electronic “toys” as educational learning devices helping learn to use technology tools to glean information. Creating lessons with technology changes the setting of the classroom from the boring, possibly monotone lecture, to an innovatively rich classroom where students use critical thinking and problem solving to create their own learning.
We learn best if we stimulate several senses at once. According to Medina (2008), multiple cues dished up via different senses, enhance learning. By employing the Multimedia Principle, we engage our student’s primary sense, vision. When a student is able to “see” the learning objective, the instructor has a better chance that the student will retain the information.
